The Attachment Intensive Retreat
Costa Rica | January 24-31, 2026
$3400-$7950
7 Days of Attachment Healing
& Embodied Honesty Practice
in Paradise
Join attachment expert Heidi Priebe and certified Radical Honesty trainers Lindsay St. Antoine and Tony Shawcross for a tropical 7-day retreat in attachment healing and embodied honesty.
This retreat weaves together attachment theory and embodied honesty practices. Together, we will explore how attachment strategies live in the body, how they shape the ways we connect and disconnect, and how to begin practicing new relational choices in real time.
This residential retreat is a fully immersive experience — including daily light, casual yoga to ground the body, three healthy meals a day to keep you fueled, and private or shared accommodations in a stunning eco-retreat center surrounded by lush flora, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant wildlife.
Through guided exercises, relational practice, and honest group dialogue, you will begin to experience what secure attachment feels like—and how to embody it without self-abandonment.
What You’ll Learn
Most retreats focus on attachment styles as labels or concepts. This week goes further: it is a practice-based immersion where theory meets body, again and again.
You will learn to:
Recognize attachment strategies as they arise in real time.
Use new tools for embodied honesty in your daily relationships.
Practice techniques for noticing and revealing previously hidden patterns.
Tolerate relational discomfort without collapse or withdrawal.
Experiment with secure attachment in a supportive group setting.
“Trying to master attachment theory and trying to heal our attachment trauma without approaching the integrative work might feel nice… until we get triggered again. This workshop is a perfect marriage [of theory and practice]”
-Jackson

What to Expect
Our time together will include:
Guided somatic exercises to track and express what’s alive in the body
Structured attachment and relating practices in pairs, triads, and small groups
Group explorations to illuminate shared patterns and possibilities
Integration circles to ground insights and prepare you to carry them forward
Because this is a residential retreat, there will also be daily space for rest, reflection, and connection in community. Meals, nature, and downtime will become part of the container, supporting a deeper and more sustainable transformation.
Workshop Flow
Day One: Uncover — The Cost of Staying Connected
Explore how survival strategies shaped your attachment and what they cost you in presence.
Day Two: Reveal — Body-First Honesty in Attachment Bonds
Practice nervous-system anchored truth-telling and begin to match words with the body.
Day Three: From Roles to Real
Examine the ways we perform connection and practice reclaiming presence, truth, and intimacy as we actually are.
Day Four: Meeting the Abandoned Parts
Discover the parts of yourself left behind to stay attached—and begin practicing listening to them.
Day Five: Conflict as Catalyst
Learn how rupture and tension can become doorways into deeper intimacy when met with embodied honesty.
Day Six: Emergence — Practicing Secure Attachment
Experiment with conscious intimacy, tolerating discomfort while staying grounded in relationship.
Day Seven: Integration & Choice
Move from surviving connection into consciously creating it. Leave with embodied tools for secure intimacy and a renewed capacity to design how you want to love—and live.
“Heidi is exactly as I expected her to be in person. She’s got such a command of the topic, but she’s also really warm and personable. It feels like she knows you right off the bat, like you’re already friends.

Who Is This Retreat For?
This workshop is for anyone who’d like to gain more knowledge about attachment theory, and for those who are ready to move beyond theory and into lived experience—those who not only want to understand attachment, but who want to gain new skills to practice secure, body-centered connection.
The workshop will likely be a great fit for you if you love Heidi’s YouTube videos and you’ve been eager for opportunities to practice what you’re learning!
This intensive is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming to people of all identities and backgrounds. We are committed to creating a space where everyone can show up fully and truthfully.
Please note: The practices we’ll use are experiential and can be emotionally challenging for some participants. You can expect moments of strong language and occasional raised voices—always held within a safe, supportive container. We invite the full range of human expression, while also teaching tools to stay grounded and connected in the process.
This workshop may not be a fit for you if you find strong language or swearing offensive, or if you are currently experiencing strong emotional triggers that make it difficult to be around intense feelings and expressions in others.
This is not a therapy group and does not replace professional mental health care. If you are under the care of a therapist or other mental health provider, we encourage you to consult with them about whether this workshop is an appropriate fit for you at this time.

Our workshop sessions will end each night at 6, followed by dinner at the Lodge.
After that, you’re free to spend the evening as you’d like. Some folks like to have alone time to rest and recharge after the intense days with the group, and others like to keep the action going.
Some evening options:
Staying at Cascada Elysiana and hanging out on your own
Participating in optional evening sessions that *may* be offered by guest facilitators
Hanging out at the Lodge with other participants and guests
If you arrange transportation, you can head out to Dominical, the small town about 30 minutes away from the retreat center.
*Although we won’t have a strict rule about abstaining from alcohol during the retreat, we do request that you take it easy with any alcohol you do consume in the evenings so you’ll be in good shape and feeling well for the workshop sessions.

We’ll be at the Cascada Elysiana Retreat center in the Southern Pacific area of Costa Rica. November, during the shift toward the “dry season” is a beautiful time to visit. Weather will generally be between 80 and 90 degrees fahrenheit with little rain.
The retreat center is a 30 minute drive to the nearest tiny town, Dominical, and the beach. -
We’ll have a dedicated indoor session space in one of the homes with A/C. Depending on where you’re staying at the retreat center, it may take you 10-15 minutes to walk to the session space. When in this space we’ll be sitting in chairs in a circle, and we encourage you to bring what you’ll need to sit comfortably and take good care of yourself (we’ll have some pillows, etc to help with this and will encourage standing, stretching, etc during sessions, as much as you need/want).
Depending on the weather, group energy and mood, etc. we’ll do some sessions in various outdoor areas.
*Unfortunately the workshop session space is not wheelchair accessible due to a somewhat long, steep, and uneven hike to the space, and that is the case for much of the retreat center.
Walking from the Main Lodge (where we’ll have all of our meals) to our session space is, “The equivalent of climbing about 8 flights of stairs on uneven ground.”

The drive from the airport to Cascada Elysiana takes about 3.5 hours. Tony and I will be arriving at SJO airport on the afternoon of the 9th and we’ll carpool with participants arriving at/around the same time.
We’ll support you in connecting with others who may be arriving around the same time as you so you may also carpool if you’d like.
If you’re arriving at SJO prior to the 9th and want to work out transportation to Cascada Elysiana on your own, please check out the detailed description on their site for travel from the airport to the retreat center. The easiest way to get to Cascada Elysiana is by flying into San Jose's airport, Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), and taking a taxi to the retreat center.
The retreat center is 3.5 hours from the airport and a taxi ride generally costs $100-150, so we suggest trying to share a taxi with other workshop members if you can -- if you consent to it, we will create a google spreadsheet list of the workshop members' information so you can coordinate a shared taxi with someone.
We can provide you contact information of a trusted taxi company, or you can find your own transportation. Renting a car is not recommended as parking is limited. For potential group excursions, we will provide transportation offsite.

Yes! Cascada Elysiana is a total natural wonderland and has creeks, cascades and small pools around the land, and a spectacular 190ft (58m) waterfall which is a 10-15 min hike from the Main Lodge. It’s considered an Easy/Moderate hike, and is unfortunately NOT wheelchair accessible, as it’s located deep in the mountain.
The power of the falls varies throughout the year, depending on rainfall and whether it’s the dry or wet season.

“If you have anything in you saying ‘I’m kind of interested in this, and I’m kind of scared’ … Just do it. Follow that impulse. It’s changed my life.
